‘Only in a truly Creative Environment’
Students are given an amazing opportunity at the Academy to photograph the Makeup and Fashion Department creations. Makeup photography happens almost on a weekly basis, which gives our photography students diverse and challenging lighting conditions and creative ideas to cope with and learn invaluable skills. This gives both the Makeup artist and the Photographer a great opportunity to expand their portfolios. Fashion Garments and collections become available to the more skilled photographers or the one’s that want to pursue fashion and glamour photography.
The results are often breathtaking and produce fantastic collaboration and networking within the Academy walls.
“A great photograph is a full expression of what one feels about what is being photographed in the deepest sense and is thereby a true expression of what one feels about life in its entirety.” ― Ansel Adams
“No matter how much crap you gotta plow through to stay alive as a photographer, no matter how many bad assignments, bad days, bad clients, snotty subjects, obnoxious handlers, wigged-out art directors, technical disasters, failures of the mind, body, and will, all the shouldas, couldas, and wouldas that befuddle our brains and creep into our dreams, always remember to make room to shoot what you love. It’s the only way to keep your heart beating as a photographer.”
“ Beauty can be seen in all things, seeing and composing the beauty is what separates the snapshot from the photograph. – Matt Hardy
“ You don’t take a photograph, you make it. – Ansel Adams
“Your first 10,000 photographs are your worst.”
“The Earth is Art, The Photographer is only a Witness ” ― Yann Arthus-Bertrand, Earth from Above
“Taking pictures is savoring life intensely, every hundredth of a second.” ― Marc Riboud
To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place… I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.
