Diploma of Screen & Media is a hands-on practical course with a diverse range of skills across the Film & Television Industry. Students are challenged at a high level right from start day to script write, storyboard and create projects that produce the highest levels of skills within the industry. Our focus on industry based events and client driven projects allows students to hone in their skills at many levels, with a professional outcome at every turn.
Editing software and sound editing is also an integral part of completing projects at both a creative level and meeting industry standards. Innovation and exploring new techniques in film making is also a major part of the development training we offer, with ‘film challenges’ and group challenges being an important part of creative modern day film makers.
The Academy attracts commercial work from significant clients – and this means training at the highest standards for our students. View examples of this commercial work on the Film & TV pages to see the diversity and importance of projects undertaken by the department. This level of commercial work not only makes the Academy of Design a training force to be reckoned with, but a place that often creates work opportunity for our students on graduation.
We believe that the Academy offers the most unique training environment to study Screen & Media. Surrounded by innovative departments like Fashion Design, Photography, Makeup (that offers SPFX makeup for stage, theatre & film), Interior Designers and Graphic Designers, the students are able to collaborate and work with other creative teams to support their film projects like no other.
